Waterfall

Have you ever heard a song that just captured your attention and spoke to a place in your heart that made you stop whatever you were doing to soak it in?

This song, Heaven’s Eyes by Jillian Edwards did that for me.

Everytime I thought or prayed about what to write to you, I only heard the words to this song. I hope you will join me in walking through the lyrics, because I believe that God wants to share His heart for you.

“I’m standing under the waterfall of Your approval and I find that I don’t need anything else or anyone else but You.”
When was the last time you watched and listened to a waterfall? Not only are they stunning to look at, they are loud and you will get wet if you stand in a close proxmity to one. God’s approval for us is so intense, so fierce!

What if we allowed that to speak over us so we could not hear any other voices spouting their lies? What if the spray from God’s approval soaked and covered every part of us? What if in the light of that, nothing or no one compares and we look only to Him?

“For the Lord’s approval of a man is not dependent on his opinion of himself,
but on the Lord’s opinion of him.”
2 Corinthians 10:18 (BBE)

“Your mercy’s song that I know by heart but I forget the words. The moment I start to trust anything else or anyone else but You. Show me to stay here…I’ll just wait here…”
Have you ever had an amazing time with God and know You met Him and walked away with a better perspecive of who you are and His love for you, only to walk into a situation or wake up the next morning and no longer believe it, if we remember at all? What if we actually started remembering those things and rehearsing them to ourselves? What if we stayed in His presence even in the midst of the fire fight going on around us?

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23

“Speak over me - tell me again that I’m someone You love. Let it sink in - tell me a million times who I am in heaven’s eyes.”
I really want you to take a minute, read it again - sit with it.
He. Loves. You.
That’s it. End of story. There are no but’s or what if’s.
You are His. You light up His world and bring joy to His heart.

“For thus said the LORD of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you,
for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.”
Zechariah 2:8

If God loved us at our absolute worst, there is nothing that will change His love towards us now.

“So, I’m letting go of all the other names that I gave myself. When I heard you say come and find yourself in heaven’s eyes…So I wanna know, see what You see. Past all the versions and layers of me. Nobody knows me…like You.”
We’re good at that aren’t we? Calling ourselves names that are not from God’s heart and how He speaks to us. They sound more like the voice of the bully on the playground or our 3rd grade teacher who said we were stupid or the boy who said we were not pretty enough or our reflection that reminds us of all the wrong choices and the stupid things we said.
But the One Who created the Universe looks at me, at you with nothing but love and when we allow ourselves to look back into His eyes, we see it - but can we believe it?

“All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you.” Song of Songs 4:7

“A child you chose before I took a breath - every last detail like the back of your hand - nobody knows me like You.”
Me. You. We are chosen to be His child. We are fashioned with care in His Beautiful Image. We are fully known and fully loved.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.” Psalm 139:13-16a

“In heaven’s eyes I am seen, I am always known, always understood, you call me your own.”
I love this! In those moments that I feel alone, overlooked, misunderstood I can remind myself - change the narrative - flip the script - God calls me His child. His love for me sent Jesus to pay the cost to rescue me. You can claim the same thing! Doesn’t that just make you want to thank Him with praise and gratitude?!
Our God is totally involved and invested in our lives.

“O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. You hem me in - behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.” Psalm 139:1-5

Don’t you love how God can speak to us through all kinds of things: nature, songs, friends, books but when we meet Him through His Living Word, we can get to know Him, His character, His love, His humor.

I don’t know what you’re walking through today, but I hope these words remind you that you are seen and loved.

I hope you have an amazing day!
All My Love ~
