New Day
I was thinking recently about all the changes in our lives and those in our corner of the world. Some change we would never ask for. Some change we plan for. Some change we fight for. Some change is hard and we grieve. Some change brings joy and a feeling of completeness.
Honestly, the only thing that never changes is that there will always be change.
Some of the changes have been great and joy-filled. Others have left me wanting to hide. While others require me to show up again and again because not showing up means giving up and I won’t do that.
Isaiah 43:18&19 is such a familiar passage that we hold onto in times of uncertainity and unknowing:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not percieve it?
I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
Not dwelling on the past. That can be hard. That can be were we get stuck going around-and-around like on a Merry-Go-Round. We replay every word, every action until we are dizzy and don’t know which way is up and we can no longer stand straight.
BUT GOD!
I love those two words together! BUT GOD!
God is there to stop the crazy spinning. When we go to Him and let Him rewrite our next chapter, our next step.
You know, when that thing didn’t happen that we were planning for.
Or when we let Him be our strength and comforter when we are tired, overwhelmed, uncertain, scared.
Or when we find ourselves in that joy-filled moment and He is laughing and enjoying the moment with us.
There are some days it is only because of Who God is in my life that I can take that step forward. There are some days He is cheering me on as I stand strong and walk into my day as a warrior and ready to take on the world. There are some days that He holds me and lets me be sad and reassures me that He hasn’t left and He isn’t going to.
There is another that never changes that is God! He is faithful and steadfast. His love is freely given and He is always for us!
Let me share some Scriptures to remind you how awesome and amazing YOUR God is:
💖 ”Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you…” Isaiah 43:4
Do you really know how much you are loved and treasured by your Dad?
💖 “Do not be afraid, for I am with you…” Isaiah 43:5
God is your hope for the dark and scary days.
💖 “I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.” Isaiah 44:22
There is nothing that seperartes us from God. We can go to Him anytime about anything because He made the way clear for us. Don’t believe the lie that keeps you from Him.
💖 “I will give you the treasures in the darkness, riches stored in secret places so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name…” Isaiah 45:3
Did you catch that? There will be dark places we will have to walk through BUT God calls you by name and will give you a treasure - something valuable for you to hold onto.
💖 “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 43:19
I am so grateful that God doesn’t get tired. Tired of my questions, my sins, my failings, my allowing fear to take over.
I am grateful for His strength that empowers me to walk out His purpose for me and gives me what I need to keep going.
💖 “I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palm of my hands…” Isaiah 49:16
You are not forgotten or unseen by God! Every time He moves His hands or looks at them He sees you!
💖 “I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:8
When we keep God always before us and follow Him, we will not get off track. AND God being on our right hand = authority, favor, position, we will not be shaken. We will be steady even when we mess up or don’t really know what our next step is. We can TRUST HIM!
I hope you found one or two scriptures that encouraged you and are able to hold onto them.
I would love for you to add to this list. Pull it out when you are having one of those days. Don’t you love how God knew we would have those days and would need to hear His words of comfort, love, get up, I’m with you, you’re forgiven?!?!
I pray that you have the most amazing day!
All My Love ~
